About the Author

Life led me down the path of journalism — first as a reporter/editor at the Buenos Aires Herald in Argentina, my parents homeland. Then to London as a writer for Latin American Newsletters, followed by a Master’s in International Journalism at USC in Los Angeles, then a copy editing job at the Seattle Times, and finally reporting/editing for the news website msnbc.com.

On retiring in 2018, that interviewing/researching/writing career, along with my lifelong love of history, provided the impetus to pursue a new hobby: writing biographies about forgotten and/or misrepresented figures with the goal of adding to and correcting the historical record. Enlightened Egomaniac is my first, but hopefully not last, attempt to do that.
